The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience of operations management in a company where product is being manufactured in the Far East, shipped in to the UK and distributed in UK / Ireland.
They will have a thorough understanding of all key sales processes including import, sales logistics, warranty returns, sales forecasting, stock management, warehouse management, QC and order processing to ensure all customer delivery requirements are met consistently.
It is vital that the successful applicant can demonstrate their understanding of the use and importance of a business operating system, ideally Microsoft Dynamics NAV, SAP or similar.
The role will also involve managing a small team which covers all aspects of back office support to the sales team, so managerial/supervisory experience is required.
Our client a product company, manufacturing in the Far East and selling through many consumer goods channels in the UK. The ability to demonstrate a professional and efficient operation is key to the company’s ambitions and growth plans.
Responsibilities;
• Managing the UK operation order book and ensuring customer orders are booked and delivered as per their specification
• Import handling duties including document filing and transfer, stock control,
• Coordination with Operations Managers in other regions for products, stock, technical issues, support, Navision, reworks / stock optimization and training
• Daily ship method decision of goods from China
• Coordination forecast work and UK purchase planning input
• Coordinating with Managing Director and National Account Managers
• Responsible for UK warehouse (contact, communication, transfer orders, QC, stock takes, rework)
• Ensuring effective communication with customers
• Product Rework handling UK
• Budget and cost follow up of operations
• Manage and enforce UK distribution transport contracts
• Manage regulatory reports such as WEEE, market stats and other legal
• Navision key user, ensuring regular training of the UK team and process documentation
• Managing the roles and tasks of the sales back-office staff
Hours
The role is office based and is the contract hours are 9am - 5pm, however the UK office is part of a global organisation so the the candidate will need to be flexible on occasion to attend group conference meetings and ensure that all daily operations are complete by the end of each day.
Key skills:
